Rachel Sweeney brings a diverse background in business, customer service, and entrepreneurship to her career in real estate. With years of experience working directly with people, firsthand experience as a business owner, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), along with studies in sociology, political science, and general arts, she brings both a strategic and people-focused perspective to her work.
With roots in the West Kootenays and the Okanagan, Rachel made the Columbia Valley home in 2018 and quickly became an active member of the Canal Flats community. Her background in business and customer service has shaped her approach to real estate, with an emphasis on strong communication, thoughtful strategy, attention to detail, and genuine client advocacy.
Rachel's experience spans residential homes, acreages, recreational and luxury properties, as well as commercial, industrial, and development opportunities. She particularly enjoys unique properties and transactions that require additional research, creative problem-solving, and a strong marketing and negotiation strategy.
Together with Peter Fry, Rachel brings a complementary approach to Sweeney Realty Group. Her strengths in business, marketing, negotiation, and client representation pair with Peter's extensive construction and industrial background, providing clients with a well-rounded perspective throughout the buying and selling process.
Outside of real estate, Rachel enjoys being involved in her community and spending time with Peter and their dog, Teddy, exploring everything the Columbia Valley has to offer.
Peter Fry brings more than a decade of experience in commercial construction, industrial manufacturing, steel fabrication, and development to his career in real estate. Beginning in steel fabrication and industrial manufacturing, Peter developed a strong understanding of workmanship, structural components, materials, and the level of precision required to produce quality work.
His career later expanded into large-scale industrial and commercial construction projects, where he gained extensive experience with structural design, building systems, project coordination, and the complex logistics involved in bringing a development from concept through construction.
That hands-on background gives Peter a perspective on real estate that extends well beyond the surface of a property. He understands how buildings are constructed, how different systems work together, and how quality of workmanship can impact the functionality, longevity, and overall value of a property. His experience is particularly valuable when evaluating commercial and industrial buildings, shops, development opportunities, acreages, and properties with specialized infrastructure.
Today, Peter combines his technical and construction knowledge with his experience as a REALTOR® to help clients look at both the immediate value and long-term potential of a property. Whether working with a buyer, seller, investor, or business owner, he takes a practical and thorough approach, helping clients understand what they are purchasing and make informed decisions with confidence.
